Global AIESEC Sustainability Impact Award 2012 | And the winners are...
The Global AIESEC Sustainability Impact Prize is a global award recognizing the top sustainability contributions/innovations within the AIESEC network; coordinated by AIESEC International and created in partnership with the AIESEC Alumni Sustainability Network. This 3-year award is possible through the generous contribution of Nakul Zaveri, an Alumnus and outstanding professional in the field of environmental finance.
AIESEC in India (1st place) and AIESEC in Mainland China (2nd place) stood out as the recipients of the 2012 Award from a pool of 9 applicants. Their projects, respectively "Conserve" and "Green Power Now" have impacted over 700,000 individuals to embrace a “greener” lifestyle. This year saw the introduction of a public vote on social media with 3,400 likes by individuals casting their vote.
Both winners were celebrated on March 6th 2012 during the AIESEC Alumni Official Dinner at the Global Leader’s Summit held in Hungary.
Addressing the audience on this occasion was Luca Keresztesi, Vice President of AIESEC International who emphasized the award’s aim : “We would like to extend our whole-hearted congratulations to the winners and nominees for this evening…We’re excited to see more stories of Acting sustainably, collaboration and achievement of cross-generational impact in the coming year for AIESEC.”
The AIESEC Alumni Sustainability Network wishes to extend a special mention to AIESEC International for the organization of such an amazing evening, to Anikó Magasházy for honoring the recipients on stage and to our international jury members – Ewa Konczal, Mike Zeidler and Tatiana Mykhailyuk.

1st place: Project Conserve, AIESEC India
Project conserve was carried out in more than 10 cities in India, with more than 30 clients, 300 000 people impacted and more than 1800 internationals included. The initiatives of the project include
· Delivering sessions on Environmental protection in schools and colleges.
· Carrying out various plantation drives.
· Hosting events and collaborating with organizations for environmental protection
· Sharing international perspective on various issues.

2nd place: Green Power Now, AIESEC Mainland of China
Green Power Now is the biggest national project in AIESEC Mainland of China. In 2011, Green Power Now impacted 12 cities, 16 chapters, 147 trainees, 143 schools, 423,830 students by providing green courses, and campus green activities. What’s more, in 2011, we organized 1 Green Cup Conference in Shanghai as the closing for the project for greater social impact and youth engagement.
